SGT Group takes part in major international trade
events

industrial supply trading as it allows for exchange of best
business practices and networking with key market players."
The first conference SGT Group attended was organised by
Metal Bulletin. The China Iron Ore 2016 was held in Beijing
from 2nd to 3rd March. The event dissected the world of iron
ore and predicted the market outlook between 2016 and
2018. Highlights of the event included the comparison
between mainstream and non-mainstream iron ore
producers including India as a core producer of the
commodity. Steel mills’ trends and strategies, eective price
risk management and index pricing mechanism were also
analysed during the conference.
Launched in 2007, MySteel’s annual iron ore conference has
grown widely popular across the globe and has been the second event participated by SGT Group. Held over three days from 3rd to 5th March in Shangri-La Hotel
Qingdao, Iron Ore International invited key
associations, steel mills and experts to discuss the
industry and market conditions.
The conference outlined fundamental topics including
2016 supply-front reform and ve year plan analysis,
overseas macro-economic situation analysis, impact of
exchange rate and currency towards commodities,
analysis of steel export situation and outlook, and
option strategy and hedging logic among many other
topics. .
The final exhibition in March, The 16th China Xiamen
International Stone Fair, took place from 6th to 9th
March. The event gathered almost 2,000 industry
players from 54 countries, and has become the largest
professional stone exhibition in the world. It was a
platform for both buyers and sellers to exhibit
products and services including block & slab, stone
products, mechanical tools and stone conservation. It
was a major platform that enabled exhibitors to
showcase and promote their companies to potential
partners.
